Embroidery Digitizing Pricing Guide (USA 2026)
A complete breakdown of what embroidery digitizing costs in 2026 — by stitch count, design type, and service level.
What's the correct size for a left chest embroidery logo? This guide covers standard sizing for polos, dress shirts, jackets, workwear, and athletic wear.
Getting left chest logo size right is the difference between a professional uniform and an amateur one. Too small and nobody can read it; too big and it looks like a costume. Use this guide as your starting point.
| Garment | Recommended width | Max height |
|---|---|---|
| Polo shirt | 3–3.5 in | 3 in |
| Dress shirt | 2.5–3.5 in | 2.5 in |
| T-shirt | 3–4 in | 3.5 in |
| Fleece / sweatshirt | 3.5–4 in | 4 in |
| Jacket / softshell | 3.5–4.5 in | 4 in |
| Workwear / coverall | 3.5–4 in | 3.5 in |
| Kids' garments | 2.5–3 in | 2.5 in |
Size by the logo's longest side. A wide horizontal logo can go up to about 4 inches wide but will be short; a square or round badge usually looks right at about 3–3.5 inches; a tall vertical logo should stay under about 3.5 inches high.
The usual position is centered over the left chest, with the top of the design about 7–9 inches down from the shoulder seam (where it meets the collar) and about 4 inches from the center of the garment. On a polo, align the center of the logo roughly with the second button.
Embroidered letters need space. As a rule, keep text at least about 0.25 inch (6 mm) high for capitals; small taglines below this often blur. A good digitizer will widen thin letters or suggest dropping a tagline at left chest size — see our left chest logo digitizing service.
Need the logo on a cap or a jacket back as well? Order separate files: cap digitizing and jacket back digitizing. Enlarging a left chest file by more than about 10–15% distorts density.
