Embroidery Digitizing Pricing Guide (USA 2026)
A complete breakdown of what embroidery digitizing costs in 2026 โ by stitch count, design type, and service level.
The honest answer to the most common question in embroidery. We break down exactly what logo digitizing costs, what affects the price, and how to get the best value for your budget.
If you've just been asked for a "digitizing fee" by an embroidery shop, you're not alone in wondering what it's for and whether the price is fair. Here's the honest answer.
Digitizing turns your logo artwork into a stitch file โ a set of instructions telling the embroidery machine where every stitch goes. A skilled digitizer decides stitch types, angles, underlay, density and sequencing so the logo looks crisp on fabric. It's skilled manual work, done once per logo.
| Logo | Where it goes | Typical price |
|---|---|---|
| Text-only or simple mark | Left chest | $10 |
| 2โ3 colour logo | Left chest | $10โ$13 |
| Detailed multi-colour logo | Left chest | $13โ$18 |
| Crest / badge logo | Left chest | $18โ$25 |
| Same logo for caps | Cap front | $15โ$22 |
| Large version | Jacket back | $35+ |

Often, yes. A left chest file and a cap file of the same logo should be digitized separately because caps need different sequencing โ see our cap guide. A jacket back version also needs its own file; simply enlarging a small file ruins the density.
